Kurt & Blaine sing to each other in the car? a) of course they do. b) that’s adorable. Here’s what’s not adorable: Kurt’s horrible half-sweater, “I Kissed a Girl” being stuck in my head, Beiste continuing to eat gross food (I thought they did a decent job of making her human last season, and not focusing on her more masculine aspects [which, for this show, is novel], but having her sit there and eat a Turducken for lunch is just icky. Least adorable of all? The plot of this episode.
That Locksley song being used on the NFL promo with the Lions! Yay! Yay, favorite previously unknown opening band! Yay Lions! (even though they’re like a bunch of overexcited big dogs right now) Related, to Matthew Stafford: look alive, sunshine.
“But Manning said Peyton, even more so than No. 3 son, Eli, an Ole Miss alumnus who is quarterback for the New York Giants, passed on names of several viable candidates. “Peyton, some of his teammates and a couple of coaches put their heads together and recommended a few people,” he said. “Eli just said, ‘Get a good one.’”—How very Eli! No stone unturned in Rebels’ search for next football coach
“Will assigned the kids to do mash-ups—the Will Schuester equivalent of wasting a week of class to show a movie—then remembered he was Burt’s campaign manager and pretended to be concerned anybody would actually believe that Burt was married to a donkey and/or that anyone would give a shit if he had a baboon heart.”—Todd VanDerWerff on “Mashoff”
Patrick Stump, he’s becoming a force of nature: the more they let him get soulful and avoid the emo voice, the better. We had a lot of conversations about that in the early days. I remember one particular time we were working together in the studio, he was singing his ass off warming up, and I was blown away. “Man, why don’t you sing like that all the time?” I asked him. “Kids won’t let me do it right now,” he responded. “That can’t happen yet.”
Oh my God,I just finished watching the first Downton Abbey.Boy did I get sucked in.I think the acting is amazing. The chemistry between Mary and Mathew is incredible. What a super bitch poor Bates’s wife is.I will not sleep if I go for another one tonight.I will savor what I saw.
(not that I’m not partially spoiled as it is, but still…)
I’ve been following this Penn State thing like a madwoman, mostly. It’s just… it’s amazing how allegedly so many people knew stuff and did nothing about it… Penn State is playing Nebraska tomorrow, so people are talking about Nebraska a lot, and my reaction is to sing “you and I” very loudly, because apparently, I will forever associate any mention of Nebraska with that song.
Also, here’s a fun fact: this guy I went to school with used to call me Cornhusker, which was a (terrible) play on my last name.
