Boy, Lizzy Grant is all lips, huh? I’m just not a fan of the song. I didn’t like it on SNL, and I don’t like the album version. I find it kind of plodding. On the other hand, I’m trying to imagine if I’d like it if Jenny Lewis or Regina Spektor were singing it, as they have more melodic voices. I should like this song, theoretically. There are strings! Also - “heaven is a place on earth wit you?”
What’s going to happen to her, though? If we’re now in the backlash-to-the-backlash stage, and the album hasn’t come out/leaked yet (as so many have pointed out)… does she find any measure of success, or does she just disappear and become a punchline? Does she get a SPIN cover?
