Two more to be filed under “The New York Times is ON IT.” One: That whole article about Random Access Memories is all “we got real musicians!” “we wanted authentic sound!” And yet Casablancas and whoever sings “Within” are both autotuned like crazy. Two: Pity the author of the article about topknots (what was *that* assignment meeting like?). Also, I don’t need to do anything fancy to get a topknot, fuckwad. Isn’t it funny how I’m perfectly fine talking to him at a happy hour, but when it comes time to discuss actual work, I get all flustered and inarticulate? I’m more articulate after 3 glasses of whiskey than I was on the phone this afternoon. 2. It really bothers me that this PUNK exhibit is the best thing that the Met could come up with this year. They’ve already had elements of punk within the Anglomania and McQueen exhibits and it’s just so…tired. So uninspired. Lowest common denominator, I guess. And here I thought the Prada/Schiaparelli thing last year was silly. I should note that I most likely will run through the exhibit at some point, but I won’t make a point of going to see it. Could I come up with a better idea? No. However, I’m not part of the Costume Institute, so…

The day after I decide I’m done with him, he calls me a couple of times and asks questions that he could have asked months ago. Not reading into it, but it’s ironic. Also, when he starts going gray, it’s going to be a sad day indeed.
