obligatory Titanic post

So, the movie came out when I was in 8th grade, and I could not care less, and I decided that I would be “rebellious” and I refused to see the movie, even though some of my friends were seeing it 10 and 12 times. I was no fan of Leo’s. I found him to be kind of slight and girly- looking. I’m guessing that I was still firmly Team Joshua Jackson in terms of celebrity crushes at the time.

Well, my luck ran out, because some friend of mine took everyone to see the movie for her birthday. I don’t remember much about the actual experience, except to note that I didn’t fall in love with it or anything. I was actually pretty annoyed that Jack theoretically could have survived. I remember towards the end, when the ship was sinking, that I thought it was taking an awfully long time for the electricity to go off. Movies! I’m pretty sure that I told people my favorite part was when the ship cracked in half, just to be “difficult” and firmly anti-romance. Oh, thirteen!

so, friends with kids

-Westfeldt is pretty radiant

-jokes about Adam Scott’s nose, which I think is just finethankyouverymuch

-unexpected use of music I liked when I was in college: Hi, Wilco’s “shot in the arm!” Hi, Rilo Kiley!

-the kid playing their kid at 1-1.5 *really* looked like he could be their kid

-FEELINGS

    Rango: Is this Heaven?

Spirit: If it were, we'd be eatin' Pop Tarts with Kim Novak.

watching Rango

Stephen Root doing the voice of a fat squirrel is just fabulous.

I’m crying every time because of how crummy the casting of Gale is (I at least feel that Lawrence has the proper amount of fierce in her).

really, it’s good that I read the Hunger Games

Now I get to bitch about the movie casting! Hooray! Haymitch isn’t a blond! It’s called a wig! Or hair dye!

YAY

I’ve only read 8 or 9 chapters of “The Hunger Games,” but I just re-watched the trailer, and I can already see little differences and WHY, WHY, WHY. A pink dress? That’s not right!

Also, it’s very hard to read this book, knowing that there are 2 more to go. I want to know what happens NOW, darn it!

-Christopher Lee-as-Saruman still freaks me out

-Aragorn is still a dirty, dirty, fox

-“I don’t think he knows about second breakfast, Pip”

-so many parts of this movie still put the stupidest smile on my face

-Boromir: still sketchy
